Hellas Character Poll

  • Dec. 26th, 2008 at 6:06 PM

They are done! What am I talking about, you may ask?

Well, in this post I have talked about the characters that I've been creating for the Hellas: Worlds of Sun and Stone science fiction rpg set in a world of Greek myth and legend. To test the system for character creation and so forth. It has taken me a week to create all ten characters. And now it's time for those of you who are roleplayers to vote for the character that you want to see posted up. If there turns out to be a tie or some such, I will likely post up the characters that have tied so in such a case, everybody will win!

So, please, cast your votes now!

Had a look at this today in Travelling Man and it looked very pretty; lovely production quality in terms of colour and piccies. Shame in some ways I didn't know about this one before I bought Agon, but I'll point the people we got it for in the general direction of this as well.

Well, Hellas is actually a brand new game, having only debuted at GenCon this past August, but has a good reputation out there in the gaming market already. The quality of the game in terms of production and printing and everything is simply brilliant, as you say, but the game universe and the principles behind the game are what make it so special.

From what I've seen of it, Agon (always get that confused at times with the Agone rpg based on the books of Mathieu Gaborit!) is more about the historical and mythic Greek side of things, whereas Hellas is definitely science fiction with the trappings of Greek myth and legend in a game that is very much Heroic. Different feels, and different appeals. I still recommend that you buy a copy of Hellas when you get a chance; you won't regret it.

You just like to encourage me into bad ways, don't you?

Yes, dear, yes, I do. :)

And it really is a *superb* rpg. :)

Personally? I'd love to see ALL of them posted over on the forums... Maybe you could be the one to standardize the character output (each one of us posts in slightly a different way).

Reason is, I find myself wanting to run introductory games, and I'd love to be able to just print a few threads and slap them down in front of the characters.

The quickstart had a sample character for each race, but I find that the more characters, the merrier.

I'll have to think about posting them all up to the Hellas forums, as to be honest, it will require a lot of typing in of the characters and all, and there's also the fact that the backgrounds for the characters would have to be written up in a...cohesive...manner.

Still, you can find the Kyklopes Trader posted here on my blog in another journal entry, so I may post him up to the Hellas forums, too. He's done up here on my LJ to show the process of character creation, rather than a completely final history of the character. But that's good, too. :)

Thanks for the comments on this. Much appreciated. :)
