Happy Friday the 13th to all my friends!

While the majority believe that today is a day full of superstition and dread, according to Jewish tradition, today is a lucky day.

Hope everyone has a good Friday the 13th!

I just got home from work. Had to go and take care of a few things at the house (checking out some stuff was packaged properly, picking up a few more clothes from home, and a pair of CDs, checking the snail mail, that sort of thing), and from doing some shopping for a few things here and there.

My right hip and leg are pretty bad right now, as can be imagined, so going to lie down and relax here at the hotel for a bit. My goddaughter, Ellie, will be staying with me overnight at the hotel (I'll go into that in another post), so I'm looking forward to her company.

Yes, I have been pretty lonely here at the hotel for the most part, even if some of the staff now call me by name and there are quite a few people in the Southway Inn for the most part. In any event, it'll be good to have some company here at the hotel for a while, even if it's only overnight.

The things I tend to do when I am sick. Well, that and nostalgia.

I caved in today, and placed my order for the original V V: The Final Battle (the two mini-series) and the 19-episode V tv series. Why, you ask?

Well, I have (or had, not sure which now because of the problems at the house) the original two mini-series on VHS tape, but have always liked that pair of mini-series. Coupled with the horrible new envisioning of V, which owes more to Battlestar Galactica than it does to the original series so far, I've been waxing nostalgic over the original series, and so decided to finally get the two mini-series on DVD. Why the 19-episode series that followed, you ask? More for the sake of completeness, and because while the tv series itself was a bit of a disaster and bad television, it did have some good moments, too.

Yes, I know I don't have a DVD player at the moment here at the hotel. But I wanted them on DVD. So there.
