Mother's Day Stuff

Yesterday was a good day. Well, other than the accident.

I spent the day getting some rest and just taking it easy, the less movement involved with the left side of my chest (after the accident, see the blog journal entry on this), the better.

I managed to get in some reading, finished another book, and also did some reading of scenarios for potential use in Atlantis: The Second Age. Watched about three hours of PVR stuff yesterday (including the Bomb Girls two-hour movie wrap-up; lovely stuff), so it was a good day overall.

Mom called my place around 2:00 pm, and told me that she'd decided she wanted to go and eat Chinese food. So I called Brother Wu's and made a reservation there for 7:00 pm.

Since my car is still in the garage being serviced, Mom came by and picked me up, and then we went and had a good meal at the restaurant. We has some soup (Mustard Green for me, Chicken Corn for her), a spring roll for her, Sizzling Beef, Mu She Chicken, and Bok Choy with other vegetables, all washed down with jasmine tea and water. Lovely meal, simple flavours and tastes, very nice. Service was a bit slow at the restaurant, though it wasn't all that busy, but there were a lot of take-out orders being processed, I noticed.

Mom came back to the house with me, and we had some (more) tea and biscuits. By the time she left me, it was close to 10 pm, and I was exhausted, both from the physical injury to my upper chest, and the fact that the walking had irritated my left ankle. Since I had to get up for work this morning, I decided to take a couple of Tylenol before bed, and then crashed for the evening.

So a good Mother's Day, except for the accident.

It's like that quote from The Neverending Story: "It has to hurt if it's to heal!" I say that to myself when things are rough.

The pandemic absolutely hit healthcare really hard, and still is since…

Yep, the foot ulcer is definitely scary to deal with, and is beyond uncomfortable. The chiropodist told me at my last appointment a week or so ago that the pain always gets worse as the healing…

I'm sorry that your foot is causing you so many issues. A foot ulcer sounds scary to deal with as well as uncomfortable.

Our health care system is rough and I think it's going to get worse before…

I've definitely been napping more this long weekend. The season is starting to turn and I think it's going to be beautiful out next week. Still my body wants naps so that's what I'm doing.

    I don't…
