Day 8 – Favourite Character
Hmm, I've played a few characters in my time as player, though I've created far more characters as NPCs for games I've run over the years. So...
My favourite character that I've played was definitely Sharm Shekallin, a Nubarian merchant and thief, that I created for RuneQuest back in 1982, and got to play for about about two years on and off during that period in a game run by a great fellow that I met during those days named Demitri Urlandrios, a Greek fellow whom I met at university (iirc). I had a lot of fun playing the game, and really enjoyed the character's foibles. Notably a heart of gold.
My favourite character that I've created for a game has to have been for the Primeval RPG. The game system's character creation mechanics and rules are so easy, so simple to work with, that they don't interfere with character creation per sé, and make "visualising" the character for the game a relatively quick matter. The character in question is Richard Blakely, a landscape painter caught up in the matter of Anomalies. I've never played the character, but if anyone I know runs the game again [hint! hint!], I think that I would want to play Richard.
