R.I.P. Lauren Bacall (1924 -2014)

On the heels of Robin Williams's tragic death, comes another blow to Hollywood royalty.

Hollywood screen legend Lauren Bacall has died of a stroke, age 89.

Hollywood Screen Legend Lauren Bacall Dead at 89

Lauren Bacall Dies

One of my favourite movie actresses of all time, and not just for her work in film noir, I first fell in love with her during To Have and Have Not (1944), but she was terrific in The Big Sleep (1946), the innovative Dark Passage (1947), Young Man with a Horn (1950) (one of my all-time favourites) and the romantic comedy How to Marry a Millionaire (1953). Not to mention The Shootist (1976) and The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996). *sigh*

Words cannot do Lauren Bacall justice.

R.I.P. Lauren Bacall. You are a Legend, and you will be sorely missed.

No, the small screen doesn't do much for the great old movies of yore, but having a widescreen tv is better than having some of those older tvs I've had over the years. :)

Lauren Bacall was my first crush and luv. I saw her in a movie when I was 14, and never looked back. She's the one crush that I've had that's never gone away.
