I spent last night with friends, as we went out to dinner at a petit restaurant in Gatineau. There were just five of us, myself included, and I had a pretty good meal of it. A small split pea and ham soup bowl (French Canadian style, of course), a small salad, a 6 oz. steak, some mashed potatoes, and a side of seasonal veggies which came with the steak. Good, solid, hot food for the most part, but the best part of the evening was the conversation.
I got home around 10:30 pm, and rather than go to bed, sat down and watched the night's new episode of Doctor Who, "Mummy on the Orient Express". Not much to say about the episode to be honest, though I did find it enjoyable and rather liked the Peter Capaldi Doctor in this one. For the first time in this run of the series, I felt that it was about the Doctor, and there were some delicious moments, and I was fond of the final 10 minutes of the episode. Good stuff.
In the meantime, this afternoon, I'll be gaming with the Sunday players, and they're going to start their Abney Park's Airship Pirates game campaign today. I'm looking forward to this, though I'm not sure what the game will entail or how things will shape up, as I've got no definite plan of attack for the afternoon's session.
