I haven't been to the convention since 2012, but I figured that this year, I would make the effort and go to GenCon Indy one last time in 2015. And so that's what I'm going to do.
This morning, badge registration for GenCon opened at 12 noon EST, and I have gone and purchased my registration for the convention. The convention is the weekend of August 1st, and prices have gone up; the badge cost me $80+ U.S. (and with the sliding Canadian dollar right now, eek!).
I have to say that I'm looking forward to going to Indianapolis again for the convention, but I haven't decided if I'm going to run any games this time around, as to be honest, I don't want to have to carry any gaming books and the like down with me to Indy. (I could be convinced to run something at GenCon, however, so if you want to do some persuading, drop me a line in the Comments or send me an e-mail.) However, this will be my last time going to GenCon. Age, health, costs (convention membership, airfare, hotel, diabetes medication), not to mention the uncomfortable-ness that flying has become, has made me decide this is the GenCon I'll go to. I'll still attend the local Ottawa convention, CanGames every year that I'm able, health permitting, but may opt to go to a couple of science fiction & fantasy conventions in future, depending on various factors.
Like I said, all that awaits now is the trick of GenCon Housing.
