Late Wednesday afternoon, I got a call from the Ottawa General Hospital that my doctor had called them, and set up an appointment for a CT scan of my leg and ankle. Apparently he wanted a fresh one. At 6:45 am yesterday morning! Talk about short notice.
In any event, I got to the hospital on time, and they made me wait for a period of 25 minutes before taking me in to administer the dye that was needed for the test. To make matters worse, the nerve pain in my ankle (and hence leg) was 12 out of 10, and I couldn't keep the leg still, and the dye seemed to make the limb...burn. After a quick consult with a specialist, I was administered a sedative for the pain and for the leg twitching. Suffice it to say, I didn't get home until close to 9:40 am, and I was doped on the sedative somewhat still.
So I went to bed, and slept for several hours, waking up close to 12:00 noon. I felt much better, the sedative having worn off quite nicely though I was left with a bad headache. I spent the rest of the afternoon in a lethargic state (side effect of the sedative?) and had a pretty relaxing day. Got a bit of sleep, but just lolled about for the day pretty much.
Woke up this morning, and felt a bit more like myself today. Good thing, too, as I have my annual eye appointment scheduled for 9:50 this morning. I see it's somewhat grey out there, snowing with blowing snow, and quite chilly as well. Should wreak havoc with my vision later after the freezing drops and the eye dilators have been administered. Of course, if it turns bright and sunny I'll be in the same boat, so it doesn't really make a difference.
Anyway, time for some breakfast, morning medications, and a quick shower and then off to the appointment.
