Today's Lunch

One of my favourite types of lunches during the summer months is a German or Hungarian (not sure which) salad that my paternal grandmother used to make. She taught my mom how to make it, and my mom taught me. Voor salad (spelling?).

Anyway, I made up the hot dogs for the recipe last night, and when I got home today, I whipped up the rest of the voor salad, and had that for lunch with a couple of slices of bread.

Here's what the large bowl of voor salad looks like.





Lovely stuff, and a filling meal. :)

Yep, it's a good meal. Here's the recipe, Mar. (For the one I made the other day)

12 hot dogs (chicken or beef, I use chicken)
1/4 sweet onion, sliced thin
1/2 green pepper, sliced into 3" long strips
1/2 red pepper, sliced into 3" long strips
French dressing, 1/2 cup or more

Cook the hot dogs and allow them to cool (I prefer this dish cold, but some people can handle it with the hot dogs still hot or warm).

Add seasonings, if desired, to taste.

You can use other vegetables to taste, adding or deleting stuff as you please, and in quantities that you like.
