It's going to be a scorcher of a day out there today, and the weekend is supposed to be even hotter (going to the 30oC mark both days over the weekend).
Another work day, although after yesterday's attempted scapegoating at the office, I wasn't sure what to expect today when I got in for work. After about twenty minutes or so, the boss called me in to the office, and we hashed out all the stuff that had gone on yesterday. He apologised to me profusely, but told me that things got really out of hand with the business of the mucked up translation project, and that everything was squared away, and there was no bad blood between us. I gave him a piece of my mind about what he'd tried to pull, and told him in no uncertain terms that I wasn't going to forgive him that easily for trying to throw me under the bus, and that we'd see how things go.
In the meantime, I went back to work at my office, somewhat fuming about matters still, but quickly got back into the rhythm of my work for the day. Donna brought me a small cherry donut and a cup of peppermint tea, and that soothed me over so I could get back to things. Time for me to head to a meeting of my translation project team, so there's stuff to get done here.
In the meantime, I'll be glad for the weekend, and that's the truth.
