Ennie Award Nominees

Saw yesterday that the Ennie Awards nominees have been announced for this year. You can read more about that at one of these two places:

I was rather pleased to see that two Hollow Earth Expedition products are on the nominees list. Secrets of the Surface World is up for the Best Supplement award, and the HEX GM Screen has been nominated in the Best Accessory category.

I would love to see both products win the award in their respective categories. Secrets of the Surface World is a remarkable sourcebook and is lovely in appearance and quality. The HEX GM Screen is one of the most beautiful GM Screen packages to come down the pipe in the rpg industry, and deserves the award in its category. However, I think that both products are up against some stiff competition, so we'll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, I want to congratulate Jeff Combos, banishedbabe, and the folks at exilegames on the nominations, and look forward to seeing how things turn out this year.

On topic you may have read that I'm starting up a quarterly online RPG 'zine.

Each issue will have a "retrospective" review and scenario.

I'm thinking of DragonQuest for the first issue. Would you like to write it?

Yep, I heard about the quarterly on-line 'zine. Looking forward to reading this when it comes out. :)

While I would love to write the DragonQuest retrospective for the first issue, I've got some writing commitments right now that take priority, so it would depend on when you would need this material.

Oh, about mid-September at the latest :)

Hmm, I don't think I can swing that deadline, as one of the projects I'm working on is due mid-September. Much as I would like to...

A pity, as you would have been ideal. Perhaps the December issue?

That will largely depend on whether or not something arises at Gen Con, among other things. It will also depend on the length of the article or piece that you are looking for, too. :)
