Doctor Visit and Cargo Pants
The weather today in Ottawa has been quite warm, in the 280C range. It's been raining on and off all day, with thunderstorm invoking looking clouds, but the afternoon cleared up nicely, and the sun came out even hotter, if you can imagine that. There's been a nice breeze most of the day, but the humidity has been high, so...
Had my appointment with the family doctor today at around 1:45 pm.
The news is good for the most part. My foot and toe are doing well. The professional care I got for my feet has made a lot of difference in his opinion, and he gave me a referral to the same place so that all my future visits can be partially covered under insurance and all.
He's pleased at my overall blood glucose levels, and thinks I'm doing pretty well with the diabetes.
If there was any sort spot, it's the fact that he still wants me to lose the twenty-five or so pounds that I really need and want to lose. The weight loss has been a constant struggle for me over the years, despite the success I first had when I started the South Beach Diet some four years ago. (Sheesh, has it been that long that I first went on that diet?)
I stopped off on the way home for some cargo pants, and bought a nice pair in a darker beige than I would like at Sears. Might stop off at a couple of other stores on the way home from work tomorrow to see if I can find them in a different colour. The cut on these was just perfect for me, however.
On the way home, I treated myself to chip wagon chips (french fries, for those who don't know), and had a salad with a slice of chicken to wrap up lunch when I got home.
Overall, a pretty good day.
