I woke up this morning with severe pains in my left shoulder, and so decided to see if I could book an early morning appointment with the doctor. Which I was able to do. So around 8:15 am, I went to the doctor's office, and saw the family doctor.
The news is not good. After examining me for about 10 minutes or so, and seeing what my ranges of motion were with that shoulder and some prodding and poking, the doctor delivered his verdict - I've either torn or every badly strained one of the muscles over the left shoulder area, and it was pretty swollen. He gave me a prescription for percocet (since he knows I have a very low pain threshold), told me to take it as needed, and that I also needed to take an Aleve or a Robaxacet as needed as well.
Anyway, I've come in to work and have taken the day as easy as I can, although it's been a pretty productive day even if I am a bit out of it from the percocet. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish the normal work day.
The only problem with the percocet is it has dried me out. Time for a cup of hot tea, chai of course, and then back to the grind.
