How I Spent My Christmas Day

Yesterday was Christmas Day. Being a single fellow, with little family left in the world, 'twas a day where I got to spend much of it on my own.

I woke up to a lovely Christmas Day surprise - my blood sugar was under 8 for the first time in over a week. Good start to the day. Unfortunately, the pinkeye condition persists.

After a nice, hot breakfast, I went back to bed for a bit of a nap, and then got up and did some writing on an idea I have for a Flvminata: Armed with Lightning RPG scenario that has been trying to come out since Monday. Yay! I followed this up with some reading, and managed to finish a short book by Kai Ashante Wilson, The Sorcerer of the Wildeep. Interesting read. After showering, it was an early lunch, and then I sat down and took a bit of a nap.

I did a bit of vacuuming and reorganising of books and stuff in my den, and then went upstairs and watched the complete second season of Rizzoli & Isles, one of my favourite cop shows, for the rest of the day and into the evening. Some lunch, some supper, and a few phone calls interrupted the tv dvd watching, but had a lovely afternoon and evening of it.

I squeezed in a nap right before supper, and had myself a healthy meal with of some roast chicken, a salad, some cooked snow peas, and lentils with cumin and onion. Yumm! After supper, I cleaned up the dishes, and watched another two episodes of Rizzoli & Isles, and finally sat back and watched the evening's Doctor Who Christmas special, "The Husbands of River Song". All I will say about the episode is that it was a fun, light-hearted episode, had some stuff I really didn't like, and was another good Peter Capaldi outing.

I wrapped up the evening with my nightly insulin shot, and then went to bed and did some more reading before falling asleep.

As folks can see, a pretty mundane kind of day, nothing Christmas-y about it, but a pleasant day off work for me. :)
