I woke up when the alarm went off, but I was still feeling pretty sick. (See the previous blog entry about my night.) I realises that there was no way I was up and about to go to work this morning, and decided to take an actual sick day. I called the office, and left word that I would be taking the day off sick, but that I'd work from home on the Wednesday (since we're expecting another winter storm).
I went back to bed after doing my wake-up blood test, and slept in until about 9:15 am. At that point, I got up and had my morning shower and then headed over to the hospital to have the blood tests done before going for my appointment next week at the Diabetes Clinic.
I got to the Riverside Hospital, but the lab was very busy, and I waited over 35 minutes before getting the blood tests done. By that time, I was feeling pretty shaky, and needing breakfast (or at least a meal of some sort), and so I went to Dunn's. I had a pretty good two-egg breakfast (with a side pancake), and some decaf coffee, and by the time I finished breakfast, it was after 12:20 pm.
From the restaurant, I headed home. By the time I got home, I was feeling much better, a lot less shaky, but was feeling still under the weather with throat/upper abdomen pain (from the acid reflux), and my head was still hurting as well. I took a hot bath, and then went to bed for an hour.
Just got up about 20 minutes ago. Feel a bit better, though I'm still feeling under the weather.
Going to take it easy for the rest of the afternoon.
