Fortunately, the weather held out for the Sunday, though there was a good deal of snow up to about 9:00 am. The players showed up at the usual time of around 12:45 pm to 1:00 pm, and then we got down to things. We were supposed to play the DragonQuest RPG system campaign on the day, but since the player characters weren't actually finished up...
Suffice it to say, Tammy and spross finished up their player characters for the DragonQuest game system. I think there's a good deal of potential with the two player characters, but that remains to be seen next week.
spross - For a change, SteveR didn't really waffle about his character too much, and created an as yet unnamed fellow, a former soldier from Alusia, specifically the Barony of Carzala. All I remember about him at this point is that he's good with a broadsword, and can cook.
Tammy - Tammy went with a magic using character, as is her usual wont with fantasy games (for the most part). She created an as yet unnamed female Air Mage from the islands of the Archipelago who also works as a messenger.
Like I said, both player characters have potential, but the two players have a habit of never working together and not talking together, so we'll see how things shape up with these two as yet unnamed characters.
I was a bit frustrated that it took two game sessions to actually create the characters, but this is partially on the fact that spross writes particularly slowly, and he changed his mind on the numbers about the character during the last session, which slowed everything down. Otherwise, the process might have gone much more quickly, and both characters could have been completed during the first session.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to actually getting in the first game session of actual play of the DragonQuest Sunday campaign next weekend, weather and health willing.
