*****

July's book reads seem to be somewhat light compared to my usual reading level and speed, but given that it's summer, and that I'm currently doing some editing for an rpg that I can't talk about, it was a pretty good month of book reads. My favourite books for the month were The Dinosaur Lords by Victor Milán, a book that lived up to its "Jurassic Park meets Game of Thrones, though some folks will be turned off by various elements of the book (as most of the reviews I've read have shown); Jane Lindskold's Artemis Awakening, the first book in a new series with sympathetic leads and an interesting premise, in which Lindskold (also known as Robin Hobb) hooks you immediately and takes you into this new world with unforeseen revelations and plot twists; and Mrs. Houdini by Victoria Kelly, a novel filled with compelling characters, exciting locations, and eloquent prose, this is a lovely way to learn more about the woman behind the great escape artist, Harry Houdini.

Overall, I managed to read 9 novels, 1 RPG and RPG products, 1 magazine, 0 comics, and 0 graphic novels in July. This brings the year total in 2016 to a set of numbers that look like this: 69 books, 15 RPGs and RPG products, 14 magazines, 140 comics, and 0 graphic novels.

Thoughts and comments are always welcome.
