Obama Is the Man

Well, got up this morning to hear the news and read in the paper that Obama is the President-elect.

This is a historical moment, with the Americans electing a President of minority descent. To be honest, if I was an American and had the right to vote in that election, I would have voted for Obama. While I liked some of the things on John McCain's platform, I liked more things on Barack Obama's platform. Based on what I've read in the paper today, it seems there might also be a Democrat-controlled Congress as well, so things might actually get done instead of being buried in the bi-partisan crap.

Anyway, congratulations to the folks in the United States on their election and its results.

If any of my American LJ friends would like to comment on their thoughts about the election, please do.
