Due to the serious blisters that I suffered while down in Indy for GenCon 2017, the doctor at the Ottawa General Hospital (see this blog post) set up the order for me to receive Home Care for the wounds.
Today saw the first appointment for Home Care. The Registered Nurse was very kind and cordial, and her assessment was the same as what the doctor's report had indicated. She went over my medical history, removed the dressing that the hospital staff had placed on my foot and replaced it with a fresh dressing. Looking at the blisters on my left foot, her assessment was to let them heal on their own, hopefully being re-absorbed by the body on its own, and that the antibiotics should help out in a few days. She told me that I would receive Home Care every three days until it was determined that I was recovering and could go to the clinic at the Billings Bridge mall. In addition, I'm only to shower the day of Home Care, before I see the Registered Nurse, until I receive the okay that I can get back to my normal routine.
The next Home Care is on Monday.
In the meantime, I need to take this one day at a time.
