John Carter of Mars Roleplaying Game Kickstarter Goes On-Line!

Well, I'm in heaven now...

One of my favourite series of books growing up was Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter of Mars (or the Barsoom) series, that begins with A Princess of Mars. The storytelling, the political and social commentary, and the fascinating environmnents of Barsoom have always made it a series that I've come back to over and over again. Well, that and John Carter and the incomparable Dejah Thoris, of course! :) Barsoom has been a world that I've wanted to game in for decades, and while I've found a few game systems that can do a reasonable job of it from time to time and have run a few sessions of said Barsoomian style games, they've always involved a lot of work and effort to adapt to game systems. But no more!!

Modiphius Entertainment has finally launched the John Carter of Mars - The Roleplaying Game Kickstarter, and here's the link to said Kickstarter.

The game uses the Modiphius Momentum system (what is being hyped as Momentum Lite), the same game system as used for Star Trek Adventures and the Conan roleplaying games) and this is the seemingly perfect game system for running said Barsoomian gaming action. I'm really looking forward to the John Carter of Mars - The Roleplaying Game, and can't wait to get into this Sword & Planet rpg!

So if you're a fan of Barsoom or you're intrigued by roleplaying in such a beloved world, check out the Kickstarter through the link, and perhaps pledge for the game yourself! :)

And who knows? Perhaps I'll even run a session or two of the game at CanGames 2018 in May...
