Happy Hanukkah!!

Today is the first day of Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights that always seems to come around the same time as Christmas, only a bit earlier, and lasts a bit longer than Christmas does.

I want to wish everyone out there a very Happy Hanukkah.

The gift I would like this year is three-fold. 1) The Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space roleplaying game and supplements; 2) A fixed house that I can go and live in; and 3) A successful resolution to my current health problem in the New Year.

Greek Course Final Thoughts

First off, I want to thank everyone who posted about my previous journal entry, pertaining to the ultrasound test results. I'm much obliged to all of you for your kind thoughts and comments and good wishes, and would like to invite you all to my place to play a roleplaying game of some sort! :)

Here at the office, there is a hint of booze in the air (several bottles of red and white wine, plus ouzo for those so inclined) and lots of interesting types of food. This is our celebration/party for the end of the Greek language course. Which, by the way, I passsed. I did pretty well on the oral exam, and they were rather pleased with two of my solutions to the diplomatic problems presented in the exam. I'm quite pleased, of course, but am glad that the Greek language course is finished.

As for the health issues, well, those will sort themselves out one way or the other in the new year.

Desolation Tonight

Forgot to mention that the Friday night gaming group will be joining me at the hotel around 6:00 pm this evening. The plan is that we'll be eating in The Shallows here in the hotel, and then playing a game of Desolation, the post-apocalyptic fantasy rpg. The group started up a new scenario a couple of weeks ago, but were distracted by Tales of the Arabian Nights last week, so this will continue the campaign on quite nicely.

No Daleks are planned, however. :(
