Purging and Selling RPGs

A large chunk of Sunday afternoon was spent taking care of some roleplaying game business at my place.

One of the things I've promised myself as a New Year's resolution is to cut down on both the number of games that I run during the course of the year, as well as sell off some of the rpgs that I really just don't want any more. This is complicated by the fact that I am somewhat of a pack rat (or is that packrat, one word?).

In any event, the process kicked off on Sunday, as with the assistance of spross I started to get rid of rpgs, packing them up in a box or two so as to sell them off this year at CanGames.

There are certain roleplaying games that I am definitely not getting rid of - my collection of stuff for DragonQuest, Universe, SkyRealms of Jorune, Ringworld, and a few others that are parts of my rpg life over the years - but other stuff has had its time, and time to go. Some of the stuff I'll be selling at CanGames include extra copies of some of the stuff for Hollow Earth Expedition, extra copies of Atomic Highway and Irradiated Freaks (I've still got two of each of these), my GOO Tekumel RPG as well as a whole batch of Tekumel resource books and material that I've purchased over the years, Barbarians of Lemuria, ICONS (two copies), and a whole whack load of other rpgs and stuff.

While I don't expect to make a lot of money at CanGames on some of this gaming stuff, it would be nice to be able to sell it there and make a bit of pin money that I can use for other stuff (like GenCon, perhaps) or to pay off some of the debts that I still have from the flood of 2009. This one will be the biggest purging of roleplaying games that I've done in at least 12 years or so, but... I'll be sorry to see these games and stuff go, but to be honest sacrifices need to be made, and bookshelf and cupboard space needs to be made available.

Primeval Roleplaying Game News

Was just checking over on the Cubicle 7 forums, and saw that in the thread on May, 2011 releases, Angus Abranson made the announcement with the official details on the Primeval RPG core rulebook.

Here's the link:

May, 2011 Releases

It's the first one mentioned.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the book cover art on this!

There's also some other cool stuff coming out in May, but the Primeval RPG is the one I've been waiting for! Congrats to Dom, Angus, and the folks at Cubicle 7 for getting the licence for the game and for putting this out. Make mine PRIMEVAL! :)

Primeval Series 4 Debuts on Space Tonight!

For those folks who are fans of the Primeval tv series, the new Series 4 episodes begin to air on the Space Channel here in Canada tonight.

The Series 4 material launches roughly a year after Abby, Connor, and Danny went back to stop Helen, and got stranded in the past. There's going to be a new team taking over the ARC, which is now under new management. Fear not, however, for Abby Maitland, Connor Temple, James Lester, and Captain Becker return in the new series, joined by some new cast members.

However, some folks may not know that ITV has done up a series of short, 3+ minute long webisodes that introduce the new characters, and put some perspective on what's been going on the last year or so. While we Canadians can't watch these webisodes on ITV, they have been posted up to YouTube, so here are the links to them:

Primeval Webisode 1

Primeval Webisode 2

Primeval Webisode 3

Primeval Webisode 4

Primeval Webisode 5

Also note that Space will be showing the Series 3, Episode 10 cliffhanger immediately before the start of the Series 4 material, so you may want to check that out as well. After all, Primeval's been off our television screens for lo these many 18 months or so!

And remember...

Make mine PRIMEVAL!!! :)
