Happy Cupid Day

I just want to wish everyone who is celebrating Valentine's Day today a very Happy, Happy. Be good and especially kind to your loved one today, and make the day special and something to remember for the both of you. As experience has taught me, sometimes one may end up with just the memories of a good Valentine's Day to remember.

Ah, well, such is life... *sigh*

The Weekend From Hell

It has been a very bad weekend, with only a couple of good moments to relieve the... pain.

As noted in this journal entry, I've tweaked my back or done something to it that has given me severe pain since Thursday or so. Well, the pain in my back is still agonizing, and there's no position (sitting, standing, lying down) that's comfortable at all. Because of the layout of my house, I've not been able to sit and watch television at all, so can't even watch videos or DVDs. I can't sit up to read, and reading when you're pretty much flat on your back is impossible for the most part, so there's been no enjoyment there. Sitting at my desk here typing on the computer is sheer agony, but I've come to conclude at the moment that this is my lot in life right now, and I've just got to deal until my body heals itself.

To add to my miseries, the little **censored** who did my feet made my dry heels even worse, especially when she used alcohol on both of my entire feet, and so now I've got a spot on each heel where the skin is broken and dry extremely so. The one on my left heel has been bleeding. To put it bluntly, at the moment I'm just a mess.

The only bright spot in my weekend were the Friday and Sunday gaming groups. Both groups came over this weekend, ostensibly to "distract you from the body pain and stuff for a while", and with the aid of a few pain killers (I don't tend to take a lot of pain meds, as I'm on too many medications as it is for the diabetes), I was able to do what had to be done for gaming purposes, and got distracted for several hours both days. The two groups playtested character generation on the new Primeval roleplaying game. Had a lot of fun testing out various elements of character creation and seeing what one could do with the process. Can't really say anything else about this, other than so far, it works really well.

In the meantime, I called work and told them I need a couple of sick days. For now, back to bed.

Desolation at CanGames

Since the folks at CanGames (the weekend of May 20th - 22nd, 2011) have posted up the official schedule as of this moment, I thought that I would officially let folks know what I'm going to be running there.

First of all, I'll be running two Desolation roleplaying games at the convention. Here are the details.

Dead or Alive
Game: Desolation RPG
Time: Friday, 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Number of Players: 6
Description: In a secluded valley that is filled with a more than ominous green mist, the line between life and death has been blurred. Explore the valley as you uncover dark secrets and unravel mysteries that threaten all in the area. Adventure in the post-apocalyptic fantasy world of Desolation.

Any Port in A Storm
Game: Desolation RPG
Time: Sunday 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Number of Players: 6
Description: You’ve stumbled upon the remains of a once thriving port city – but what lies beyond its shattered walls? Is it a beacon of hope, offering a place of safety and respite? Or is it just another wilderness, filled with predators of a different kind? Adventure in the post-apocalyptic fantasy world of Desolation.

I'm rather looking forward to running these two scenarios, and hope to see some of my LJ friends there, too. :)

Primeval at CanGames

Since the folks at CanGames (the weekend of May 20th - 22nd, 2011) have posted up the official schedule as of this moment, I thought that I would officially let folks know what I'm going to be running there.

I'm also going to be running two games of the Primeval RPG, due out from the folks at Cubicle 7 in May, at the convention. Here are the details on these two games.

A Woodland Adventure
Game: Primeval RPG (the game will be out in or around May)
Time: Saturday, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Number of Players: 6
Description: When your characters are sent in to investigate a creature sighting after a young girl has been attacked by a “monster”, your team finds more in the woods than they bargained for in the form of a scientific mystery... oh, and there’s the Anomaly, too! An adventure for the new Primeval RPG, based on the hit British tv series, that uses a variant of the DW: AiTaS mechanics.

Peril Beneath the Streets
Game: Primeval RPG (the game will be out in or around May)
Time: Saturday, 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Number of Players: 6
Description: When your team is called in to deal with an Anomaly in the London Underground, complications arise in the form of trapped passengers on board a disabled train, and a treasure from the past. An adventure for the new Primeval RPG, based on the hit British tv series, that uses a variant of the DW: AiTaS mechanics.

Quite looking forward to running both of these games as well, and looking forward to seeing what the players and their characters do at the game table.

Happy Birthday, fredbassett!

Here's wishing another of my Primeval friends, fredbassett, a very Happy Birthday! :)

May the Goddess bless you with good health, happiness, fortune and prosperity for the coming year, and may a warm breeze always blow at your back. And, of course, may any Anomalies that open nearby have nothing but cute, lovable beasties come through! :)
