Musings and Ravings

Woke up this morning to find a messy day with snow outside, and my car was buried again.

After doing all the morning stuff, I decided that today I was going to work, so set up the carpool arrangements with me driving everyone in, got up and did all the stuff one has to do in the morning to wake up and function, and then got down to it.

I had to start the day off by cleaning the car, and that was fun. Tweaked my back somewhat. Not hurting too badly, well, not more than usual these days, but c'est la vie. The driving of the car was not pleasant, with the possibly broken toe and the sprained ankle, but again, one does what one has to do.

Got in to work this morning, and have been quite busy with stuff, so taking a break and having some tea. I've got my homework for Geology class all done, and am looking forward to getting back on the course horse this evening. As long as the weather holds out.

Have neglected to mention that I received my notification from CanGames, the local gaming convention here in Ottawa, looking for Gamemasters for this year's edition of the convention which starts on May 18th, 2012.

I'm rather looking forward to running some games there this year, and have decided to run All For One: Régime Diabolique, the Three Musketeers meets the occult rpg set in 1630's France, and the hopefully soon-to-be-released Primeval RPG, based on the Primeval tv series, at the convention this year. I'll be running each game twice at the convention, if things work out schedule-wise, so look forward to seeing some of my friends there.

The development of the scenarios for the two rpgs for the convention are well underway.

Just got back home from work.

That was a long day, and I've got to spend a bit of time working on some of the stuff for the CanGames 2012 games that I'm going to run, and do a bit of review of the homework for my Geology class this evening.

Oh, dear, better get to it.

On top of that, I hear that there's a rain/snow/freezing rain warning in effect for Ottawa this evening. Should make driving to the Geology class a lot of fun... NOT!

Well, that was an interesting evening and a terribly scary drive home.

Just got back about ten minutes ago from my Geology class for Tuesday night, and am having a cup of hot cocoa. Always good for the nerves and relaxing the soul a bit.

Geology class was fine tonight, and I had a good time and continue to learn all sorts of neat stuff. On the other hand, the drive home this evening was terrible, and I was worried that I was going to crack the car up a couple of times, and my body along with it.

The weather is currently a mix of freezing rain mixed with snow, and while visibility isn't too bad (unless you're driving on open roads that are windswept), the roads themselves are just sheets of ice that haven't been salted and dealt with all that well. Had a couple of scary moments coming home from school, and to be honest, I'm still shaking somewhat. Saw several really bad accidents on the road coming home, so I was glad to get back to the house, let me tell you. Too make matters worse, there was no salting or slight clearing of the roadways in my condominium complex, and I actually was worried that I was going to fall and hurt myself going from the car into the house. Fortunately all is well.

That said, I'm going to sit here a while more with the hot cocoa and my warm blanket and a bit of music, and will just try and relax for a while before going to bed, since I'll never get to sleep with the way my nerves are jangled.
