Monday Morning Thoughts

Up and about this morning, having come in to work for the morning and part of the early afternoon.

I have an appointment at the footcare clinic in the early afternoon, and then the regimen for the colonoscopy begins in the middle of the afternoon, so am not sure whether I will be spending a lot of time in the bathroom on the loo today or not.

Yesterday afternoon's game session of All For One: Régime Diabolique with the Sunday gaming group went pretty well. I think they've now got the handle on the combat system, in terms of both the game mechanics and getting the flair and style of the Three Musketeers type of game, but we'll see next weekend (assuming I game, depending on how the colonoscopy goes). Don't know yet whether I'll be gaming on Friday night with that group, again depending on the procedure results and how my body deals with it.

Anyway, back to the job.

Pre-C and -E Procedures Regimen and Thoughts

Back from having my feet looked after at the footcare clinic. I was told my feet are still pretty good, but that the broken toe doesn't look like it's healed properly.

After the clinic, stopped at the Ottawa Eye Institute and had the new frames for my everyday glasses checked to see if they were good sized. Seems to be a bit overly wide, but better than the previous pair that didn't pan out after the lenses were put in. Flexons, and very light. The glasses should be ready by the end of the week, but we'll see how I'm feeling after the colonoscopy before deciding when to go in and pick them up.

From the Eye Institute, I went over to Swiss Chalet and had lunch. I ate a small bowl of chicken soup, a side salad with balsamic vinegar and oil, a chicken sandwich on a kaiser, and a plate of French fries. Stopped off on the way home, and snagged two Boston Creme donuts at Tim Horton's. Got home, and ate one of those and a piece of apple pie. Having a bottle of water right now, as I'm quite thirsty...

...and the regimen before the colonoscopy starts in in earnest in approximately 50 minutes or so. In further (bad) news, got a call from the doctor who is doing the procedure, and he has decided to do an endoscopy as well as the colonoscopy ("getting it all over with, for now" as the nurse told me). Not going to work tomorrow or the rest of the week, for that matter, so we'll see how things go with this. I do need to figure out how to distract myself for the forseeable future from all the stuff that I'm scared, stressed, and seriously worried about.

Damn, I wish I had an iPad or a Galaxy Tab!

The only good news was that I heard from the doctor about five minutes ago. The Celiac test results are in and came back negative. So that's not the problem, it seems.
