A Monday Morning Thought

I woke up this morning still feeling somewhat ill, but somewhat better than I have been.

Decided to go into work, but I'm only doing a half day again, with my boss's blessing. I find the more I talk, the more I cough, but other than that my head is still pretty stuffy and blocked.

We'll see how the rest of the day goes.

Paleo Isn't Extinct, Thank Goodness

For those who are dinosaur enthusiasts, or even those just looking for a good dinosaur comic out there, I thought that I should draw (no pun intended) your attention to this.

One of my favourite dinosaur comics has always been Paleo. Paleo was a comic that was for anyone who enjoyed the BBC’s Walking with Dinosaurs; it did its best to get the science right, and only wandered from that goal when the needs of the story dictated otherwise. Interestingly, there are no humans, and the dinosaurs in the tale were appropriate for the (Late) Cretaceous setting.

I lost my copies of the comics when the basement of my condo townhouse flooded several years back, and the books have been almost impossible to find, although there was an omnibus of the volume published back in 2003. However, now Jim Lawson has put together Paleo: The Webcomic site. According to his intro post, it will cover the entire run of the original series and the "Loner" storyline, and include previously unpublished art. There's quite a bit of material already up there, and he's well into Chapter 2 of the story.

So, check it out.

Monday Afternoon Thoughts

Home from work around ten past 1 today, and still definitely feel under the weather.

Work went as well as it could be expected to go, given that I'm feeling fuzzy around the ears and all, and the cough is still persisting if I talk too much though my chest hurts somewhat as well.

Going to take it relatively easy this afternoon, and do another blog entry or two about the trip to GenCon Indy this past week (geez, is it already a week since the convention?).

GenCon 2012, Day 4 Report

Here is the report of the sixth day of the trip to GenCon 2012. The report on the fifth day can be found in this journal entry.

And that's another relatively long entry, though I hope everyone has enjoyed it. In a lot of ways, it was a busy day, and I lost track of time because of the meds and just enjoyed being able to wander the Exhibit Hall, even if it was hurting me like heck to do so.

In any event, the next post will be about the trip home to Ottawa, and then I'll be writing just one more post about this year's GenCon 2012, a retrospective of sorts, some thoughts on the convention, and a pair of photos of my loot from the convention. As always, thoughts and comments are much appreciated.
