Origins Award Nominees

Just saw over on the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) website that the nominees for the Origins Awards have been announced for this year.

2013 Origins Awards Nominees Announcement

I have to say that I was pleasantly shocked and pleased, not to mention completely surprised, to see that the Primeval RPG has been nominated in the Best Roleplaying Game category. Wow. The Primeval RPG is a really underrated, fine game based on the tv series that hasn't gotten a lot of hype and marketing (other than from myself and certain other places, as well as the Cubicle 7 website) and is something of a sleeper rpg out there, and I'm really pleased to see that it's been nominated.

Well done. I don't expect it to win the award against the Marvel juggernaut, but it would be a nice feather in the cap of Cubicle 7 and its writer, Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan.

No Gaming on This Friday Night, Once More

The day has gone on and I am still somewhat sick. Actually, who am I kidding? I don't feel as if I'm on the road to recovery at all, and to be honest, I'm pretty worn down.

My voice is, to put it bluntly, somewhat gone. And so once again, I have decided not to play and run the game with the Friday night gaming group tonight.

The Friday night players had finished the Primeval RPG scenario that I was running, and were getting ready to get back to the a|state RPG game once more, but that's just not going to happen tonight.

Fortunately, the Friday night gamers have been accepting of this decision, and we'll try and game once again next Friday night. But for tonight, no gaming. :(
