A Potentially Long Day

Today promises to be a long day.

I'm working from the office for the morning, although this isn't anything unusual for me.

However, this afternoon, I have to be home from around noon onward, as Bell Canada will be installing Fibe TV and internet at my house. Assuming that the residence I'm living in is capable of having a Fibe installation done. (I'm not really sure how this is done, and whether it's possible to do this in any home or what not, so don't even ask.)

Since Bell doesn't support Linux (and thus any form of Ubuntu that I might be using), I'm not sure how the installation of Fibe internet will work on the computer at home, so once the Bell Canada guys arrive for the installation, I'm not sure whether I'll have any internet capability for the rest of the day. And since I don't have a properly functional mobile phone at the moment, I won't be able to get in touch with folks through the Twitter and/or LiveJournal applications to let folks know what's going on with the process or anything.

Anyway, back to work.

To Those Going to GenCon

Since I know that a lot of my gaming friends and peeps are going to this year's GenCon Indy 2013, and will be heading out sooner rather than later, I want to wish all of you a very happy GenCon.

Be safe, be healthy, be happy, have good gaming experiences, don't go too crazy in the dealer's room, have more good gaming experiences, and don't forget to blog and post pics and all that good stuff. Oh, and remember not to come home with con crud! :)

I am totally envious of you guys and gals. :)

Installation Complete

Just getting ready to make some supper. Have popped a tuna casserole into the oven.

The fellow from Bell Canada has just finished the installation of Fibe TV and internet here at the house. The appointment called for him/them to arrive between 12 noon and 5 pm. So naturally enough, he showed up at 4:30 pm.

The process of the installation went well enough, though there were a few hairy moments and some furniture and book moving involved. Everything appears to be hooked up fine ::knock on wood:: and the internet is running well.

I plan to spend a couple of hours tonight watching some tv, if I can get the new Fibe set-up and how this works into my brain. I'm really getting too old for new tricks.

More on this at a later time, possibly date.
