Musings and Ravings

It's Friday morning, and I'm glad that this is the last work day of the week.

Sitting here in the office, and hearing a rant from the boss as he belittles one of the tech guys, as we're having problems with the network here at the office this morning. He's not in a good mood at all, and while he's not taken it out on some of us "plebes" yet, it's just a matter of time today. I'm going to try and stay out of his way while I got about my job today.

Health-wise, I've got a problem with my left ankle. The ankle is very swollen and quite painful, and I don't have any idea what's going on. The leg above it hurts, but so does the left thigh and my left hip. I don't recall hitting the ankle on anything, but my memory about these things is not so good these days.

In the meantime, work awaits. That and a cup of herbal tea.

Finally home from the office today.

That was a long day at work. Not helped much by the fact that I'm in some pain in my left ankle. The ankle is somewhat swollen, as is part of the leg above it, and there's pain and a bit of itching in the leg as well. Except up in the thigh, which is just hurting, period.

In any event, I am hope from work. Got tonight's game session with the Friday gaming group to look forward to this evening. The Friday night gamers will be continuing their Yggdrasill RPG campaign this evening, and I'm rather looking forward to it.

In the meantime, some ice on my ankle, and going to rest for a bit with my foot up.

I had a great time with the Friday night group. I ran the Primeval RPG on the gaming group, and the players had a terrific time with the game.

This was the first time that the players have played Primeval in several months, and the game went pretty well after a bit of a re-familiarisation for the players with the basic combat rules and those pertaining to Story Points. I figured I'd ease the players into the adventure, and so started with some normal, routine activities for the players that highlighted their backgrounds and personalities, and then got to the basics of the nitty gritty.

All in all, looking forward to running the next game session.

I started running a brand new adventure on Sunday afternoon for the Primeval RPG, and I had quite a good time of it.

The scenario has a relatively straightforward plot, with, to be honest, some interesting red herrings and twists and turns, and am looking forward to seeing how this one shapes out with the players and their characters. One of the things I did that Tammy and spross rather enjoyed was starting the session off in media res, with the characters being chased by the monster(s) that will form the basis of the adventure. And then we jumped back two days to see how it all started. Lovely stuff.

Looking forward to next Sunday's session.
