A Busy Friday Morning

Woke up this morning to a relatively warm early morning in the Ottawa valley (around -8oC). Quite balmy! And it's supposed to go even higher, temp wise, so this is a good thing.

I've got a bit of a stuffed up, snivelling nose this morning, but otherwise am feeling pretty all right.

Work this morning is busy as heck, and I'm feeling a bit like a chicken without a head, as the boss has got me very busy with multiple projects and I feel like my work equilibrium is slipping. This is an unusually busy Friday, and have no idea with what's up with that. Very strange.

Since it's Friday, I'll be gaming with the group this evening, and I'm looking forward to that. That's what's keeping me going at the moment.

Need to stop on the way home from work to pick up a few salad veggies and a couple of other things. Then the weekend will begin in earnest.

For now, in the meantime, I've got to get back to this project. Or was it the other one? Hmmm...

RPG Gaming Stuff for Sale, Part III

As noted in this earlier blog entry, I've decided with great reluctance to purge my collection of roleplaying games. These will be sold off at this year's CanGames here in Ottawa the weekend of May 16th. I figured that I would post up the stuff that I'm selling to my blog so folks have a heads-up on what I'm selling and all (and anyone who's coming to the convention can make me an offer or three). You can see the previous post with the first batch of items here in this Gaming Stuff for Sale, Part II post.

For now, here's another batch of stuff that I'm selling.

1st Edition Thousand Suns RPG, and the three supplements for it

Shadows of Esteren, Book 1 - Universe (the main rulebook) and the original GM Screen (All from the Kickstarter)

Shadows of Esteren, Book 0 - Prologue, with Loch Varn Tiles (shrinkwrapped), Clues (shrinkwrapped), Characters (shrinkwrapped), and Artwork (shrinkwrapped) (All from the Kickstarter)

Desolation Roleplaying Game, and the two supplements Survivors and Journeys, Before and After

So anyone who wants to make me an offer can do so here in the Comments, or drop me an e-mail at johnk100 AT sympatico DOT ca.

Artwork for River of Heaven RPG

For those who are still interested in the River of Heaven RPG....

While the cover art for the book has been done by Jon Hodgson of Cubicle 7, the interior artwork in the book is being done up by Peter Frain. While I was somewhat concerned about Peter's artwork, based on what had been posted over in the River of Heaven Kickstarter, I needn't be concerned.

Peter's got a nice blog, 77 Studios, and you can check out his artwork these days. Really stellar stuff, both black & white and colour, and so I can safely say that in my opinion, River of Heaven is in good hands art-wise.

So please, if you haven't checked out the River of Heaven Kickstarter or have been thinking about, do so. Maybe even pledge for the game and increase the chances that we see the book with full colour art! :)

Getting Ready to Roll on Down That (Atomic) Highway...

With the exception of a couple of things in terms of the blog stuff I've written today, I've been slogging away at getting stuff ready for the Atomic Highway game that I'll be starting tonight with the Friday gaming group.

The final aspects of the game environment that I plan to use, the Ottawa valley, with Ottawa renamed 200 years hence as Byetown (long story, ask me if you want to know in the Comments), have come together quite nicely. With a bit of help from a couple of good friends over the last two days or so.

But tonight's the test. The Friday night gamers will be creating characters for the game, and depending on how long that takes and what they want to know of the game world they're playing in, I might even get to start the game and all. That would be neat. We'll see.

In the meantime, back to a bit more work on it. Then it will be supper in about 45 minutes.
