April Fool's Poem

Given that it's April 1st, and we all know what that means, I thought I would share this with you. Jean Wells Rogers, a long-time reader of the "Dear Abby" columns in the newspaper, wrote this wonderful poem for today. Fitting, don't you think?

No one goes hungry
All people are fed
The oceans are clean
Lake Erie's not dead.

The Irish aren't fighting
The Arabs love Jews
The swords are now plowshares
Now ain't that good news?

The water's delicious
The air is so clear
On top of a mountain
You see to next year.

Couples stay married
Children are jewels
Sure got you going!

Happy Birthday, Hannah Spearritt!

Happy Birthday, Hannah Spearritt!

Today is Hannah Spearritt's birthday. She is the lovely actress who first came to prominence as part of S Club 7, but is best known for her role as Abby Maitland in the Primeval tv series.

Here's wishing Hannah Spearritt, who turns 34 years young today, a very Happy Birthday, and a terrific year ahead!

You're very much missed, Abby Maitland.

Work Is Done, and No Jokes On Me Please

Work is done for the day, and I'm getting ready to head home and get some rest and some painkillers into my system.

Even though today is April Fool's day, I'm glad that I was considered a joke-free zone for the day, as to be honest, I just couldn't deal with it, and I've been dealing with some stuff that, to be perfectly honest, has made me a bit of a grump the last few weeks or so. And the fact of the matter is that while I enjoy a well-thought out prank (and there are those who know what I'm talking about), too much of what goes on today seems to rely on a harmful or hurtful "snap" (for lack of a better word) for the prank to come off, and that really isn't my kind of pranking.

So, hope folks are having a good day, and that April Fool's Day has been...kind...to you. :)
