The New Doctor Who
The new Doctor Who has been announced. As promised, here is the link:
New Who actor is youngest ever
Straight from the BBC comes the news that David Tennant's replacement as the new Doctor Who is none other than Matt Smith.
While I don't have a good idea who Matt Smith is despite what I've now read about him on-line, I think that visually he is an interesting choice. He has an interesting face, one that reminds me a lot of Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the fellow who played Steerpike in the UK adaptation of Gormenghast, and to be honest, his gothic, Harry Potter without the glasses kind of look, is a fascinating direction to go in that may or may not be inspired by all the people out there to whom the gothic and the Harry Potter stuff appeals. That said, I have loved pretty much every episode of Doctor Who that new guiding light Steven Moffatt has penned, as well as his other series, and I trust him and whatever vision he has for the series beginning in 2010..
Three years younger than Peter Davison was when he got the role. And we know how that turned out, so ya gotta have faith...still, I can't help think that we've got an Emo Doctor on our hands now. But like I said, gotta have faith.
