spross dropped over after work, and we went over to Business Depot and then into Chapters. I saw a couple of books that I wanted, and put my hat and gloves down to look at one of them. In the science fiction and fantasy section, naturally. When I got to the cash, I realized that I had lost the hat (must not have picked it up when I picked up the gloves). This was my very nice, very soft winter tuque-like hat, dark blue with snowflakes and a pom-pom like thing on top, that I've grown comfortable in over the years. You've seen my photo and so you know I'm relatively bald (or is it balding?), and thus know that one needs a soft hat on such a pate. (Wool just doesn't cut it, as it itches, and some of the other materials out there, well...)
The place was full of people, and not one of them stopped me and said, "Excuse me, sir, but you dropped your hat" or some such. Of course, I fully expect that someone picked it up and thought, "Gee, what a nice, warm winter tuque. I think I'll keep it." People are such...ah, forget it. :<
*sigh* Forgive me, I guess I'm just really annoyed at myself right now, and seriously cynical.
