What Might Have Been at CanGames, 2021

Well, here we are at the point in the year when I would normally be posting about the fact that CanGames (and hopefully that's still their website!) is almost upon us.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and all the stuff that's going along with that, CanGames 2021 has been cancelled for this year. I can understand the decision to cancel the convention for 2021 to be honest, as it seemed at the time (and still does) the right thing to do, especially given the size of the venue and the proximity at which gamers tend to occupy space next to other gamers, and the final fact that some gamers don't tend to consider hygiene at conventions all that often. Still, I will miss CanGames 2021 this year, but...

In the hopes that CanGames 2021 was going to happen this year, I had figured out what I wanted to run at the convention this year, and so I present to readers of my blog the following.

*****
Herbquest
Game: DragonQuest, 2nd Edition RPG (with home rules)
Time: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Number of Players: 5/6
Description: An attack on a small community near a dreaded forest leaves several villagers dying of a terrible moredhel poison. Can your player characters retrieve the herbal cure for the toxin before it's too late?

Journey to Arian
Game: DragonQuest, 2nd Edition RPG (with home rules)
Time: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Number of Players: 5/6
Description: A merchant has hired your player characters to transport a series of packages by mule from the town of Silvertown to the village of Arian in a specified amount of time. Can you make the delivery on time? And is the job exactly what it seems to be?
*****

In any event, I'm going to miss all my friends and acquaintances that I only get to see at CanGames during the annual pilgrimmage to the convention.

Ah, well... perhaps at CanGames 2022...
