RPGaDay2022 in August - August 21st: Setting Sunday

We continue on today with #RPGaDay2022 for August.

Day 21 - Setting Sunday: Share an intriguing detail from a game setting you enjoy.

That's a tough one, and something I'm not sure I want to discuss in this thread or any other. But I will offer this mote of information.

In the Atlantis: The Second Age fantasy rpg of Sword & Sorcery, Magic is the stuff of dream and unshaped reality. Magic, and the ability to shape it, comes from the slumbering elder beings that sleep at the [*censored!*]. They emanate half-shaped thoughts, unformed ideas and twisted nightmares, partially seen by the feverish mind of the magician who catches and uses them for his own needs. Needless to say, there's a price to playing with magic, as in all Sword & Sorcery, and it's not...pleasant.

'Nuff said.

And there you have it, my thoughts on this twenty-first day of #RPGaDay for August, 2022.

Comments, thoughts, questions, etc. are all welcome, of course. :)
