R.I.P. Walter Cronkite (1916-2009)

Just finished gaming for the evening, and went on-line, and...

A terrible ending for the day, or a terrible beginning for the new day.

Legendary News Anchor Walter Cronkite Dead

Very sad news, indeed.

Cronkite, whose authoritative news delivery during turbulent times made him "the most trusted man in America", has died at the age of 92. The first to break the news of the assassination of JFK, Cronkite was a respected journalist who had an interesting life and career as a newsman and anchorman, and in many ways pioneered both jobs and turned them into something more than they were.

The Wikipedia entry on Walter Cronkite details the life and times of the man quite eloquently.

Rest In Peace, Walter Cronkite (1916-2009). You will be missed.
