angryPublic television stations receive their support from people in their viewing audience, the fund raising telethons they do bring in financial support from their local viewing audience, the get revenues from advertisements from businesses in their viewing area. WPBS Watertown shows programs of interest to people in the Ottawa area, and they listen to what we want to see. That station shows English comedies, other sorts of English programming, and all sorts of really good entertainment and stuff that appeals to Canadians in this area. We've developed a rapport with them. Why on the Goddess's green earth would Rogers think that we want to watch stuff from Detroit? Well, actually, there's been a lot made of this, and despite the protests from Ottawa residents and the flooding of calls to Rogers, the stupid muckety-mucks there are sticking to their decision, which will take effect on August 18th.
