For those who haven't heard the news, Edward Woodward has died.

Actor Edward Woodward Dies at Age of 79

Many of us knew him best for his work on The Equalizer, but Woodward had many different roles and was a character actor non pareil. I loved him in the 1960's in the Callan spy series, thought he was excellent in The Wicker Man, and several of his other roles over the years.

A superb actor, silenced forever.
