Missing From the Net, But Back (Sort of)

Yes, it has been a while, almost a week, since I posted anything here on my blog. And my friends over on Twitter may have noticed that I've been a bit lax there as well.

The majority of it is that I'm still living in the Southway Inn hotel, but am getting ready to move back into the house sometime this week. In the meantime, there is a lot of stuff that has to be done at the house in terms of getting it ready for habitation again, and I've been tied up with that quite a bit. I have taken a holiday week off work in order to get the house back in shape and move back home, and I'm going to need all the time, believe me.

There was a pretty freaky incident in all this, too. spross gave me a lift back to the house on either Thursday or Friday, and when I saw the boxes all over the den and the sheer amount of stuff that's got to be unpacked and put back on shelves, cupboards, and so forth, I had a major panic attack. He stated that I had freaked out, and I guess from his perspective I did somewhat. In any event, I calmed down somewhat during the weekend, and began the serious work on Saturday of starting to unpack, unload, and that sort of thing. One of the priorities at the moment is finding out which boxes the clean-up crew had put the cutlery and dishes in. Makes it difficult to eat a meal in the house without them, and I'm tired of plastic trays and plates. :(

In good news, Sunday the gaming crew showed up and played another game of Tales of the Arabian Nights. This was one of the worst plays of that game that I've ever had. I didn't get a single bad thing happen to me in the game, and at the end when we stopped, I had 13 skills (four of them at Master level), *two* Treasures, Sultan status, and...well, you get the idea. Heck, I even ended up in a Place of Power, and that's only happened to me twice before in all the games I've played! I love the game, don't get me wrong, but one of the joys of playing TotAN is experiencing all the bad stuff that can happen during the adventures one goes on. None of that happened to me, although both spross and Tammy had some pretty bad stuff happen to them several times in the game. I don't know, perhaps I've gotten a bit jaded about the game given how many times I've played it the last month or so.

In the meantime, I've done a lot of reading this past two months of life a la hotel (may have to blog about this), and have been having a blast of late reading the new Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space roleplaying game, and creating characters and statting up a few things. I can tell you that this game is going to cost me quite a bundle in future, with the various boxed sets for it that are planned for next year.

Ah well, in any event, time for me to head back to the hotel. I've got the laptop here at the house, since I need it here to do some book inventory and the like, so won't have access to it for the remainder of my stay at the Southway Inn. Don't know when I'll blog again. Too much to do.
