R.I.P. William Tenn (1920-2010)

Another death in the sf and fantasy literature field.

William Tenn, a noted science fiction satirist and very good writer, has died.

I read a lot of Phil Klass's work (he wrote under the name William Tenn) back in the day, and met him several times at the Pittsburgh science fiction convention in the 1970s and 1880s. He was a real gentleman, a kind soul, and was willing to talk for hours on any given subject. My favourite memory of him was when at one of those Pittsburgh conventions in the 1980s, I surprised him at a room party with Montreal bagels and lox (smoked salmon for those not in the know). Good memories. :)

Rest in Peace, William Tenn (1920-2010). You've earned it.
