Crocheting Adventures with Hyperbolic Planes Wins Oddest Book Title Award
Britain's Bookseller trade magazine organizes a yearly contest, which has been going on now since 1978, for the Oddest Book Title. It was originally conceived as a way to avoid boredom at the Frankfurt Book Fair, where the first award was given to Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Nude Mice. (And that title alone makes me wonder what the book's got in it!)
In any event, this year's title that won, Crocheting Adventures With Hyperbolic Planes beat out the runner-up What Kind of Bean is This Chihuahua, the third place Collectible Spoons of the Third Reich, fourth place Afterthoughts of a Worm Hunter, and fifth place finisher Governing Lethal Behavior in Autonomous Robots.
There have been some other really interesting titles that have won in the past, such as Living With Crazy Buttocks and If You Want Closure in Your Relationship, Start With Your Legs.
While the titles are quite interesting with all these books and definitely peak my curiosity, I have to say that I have no desire to read *any* of these books, oddly enough. Or perhaps not so oddly.
