Real Life(tm) Blues

I don't really know what's going on or why it's happening, but I've had a very hard time with Real Life(tm) the last few weeks or so. Things seem to either go really slowly and nothing much happens (and don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the down time, such as it is), or else everything is hectic and rushed and I feel that I don't have enough time in the day to get stuff done.

The folks who did the repairs to the house after the sewage flood in my basement are finally doing the final repairs to the house over the next three days, so as such, I'll be spending time at the house (rather than at work), hopefully being able to work from home and not be too distracted by the guys working away in the laundry room and a couple of other parts of the house.

The work on the scenarios for the DW: AiTaS games that I'll be running at CanGames continues, and to be honest, I know what's happened here. One of the scenarios, and I'm not saying which, is an adaptation of someone else's scenario work, and it's being a bugbear to finish off and handle. I've had to re-write some parts of the adventure, and the conversion of game statistics has been frustrating because of the...genericness of the stats provided in the scenario.

Along with some of the other stuff going on in my life, on top of the situation at work (which I can't talk about), I'm just having a hard time of it right now, and am somewhat frustrated and stressed out. And I think the stress has been adding to my physical problems at the moment, as well.

Suffice it to say, not good.

Some nice light music on headphones to avoid hearing the construction noise? And I hope it does go well, and that you get an easier time of it, if not now then soon.

The music thing did the trick today, since I put some Andreas Vollenweider on the computer, and listened to that while I worked while they worked.

Still, he estimates another day or so before they are finished (but guarantees completion before the end of Friday), so this is good. We shall see.

Good to know that needed repairs are finally happening - not so great to hear that the stress is getting to you. Andreas Vollenweider is a good way to combat that, though.

I really need to get more of his albums. I like his music. But my horns are now officially pulled in; I've registered to attend a Tolkien-related mini-convention in KY in 2011, so all my limited pin money is going to go for that. Too bad KY isn't closer to Ontario...

Another couple of days to finish up the repairs, so I'll be glad when that's over and the weekend arrives. (Although with the Senators in the NHL playoffs right now, heart palpitations are a possibility. :)

Vollenweider is terrific to listen to for relaxation. I've got all his albums/CDs to this point, and have to say that it was quite good to work to the music today.

[Emitting good vibes] Here's hoping that things will start to turn around the corner this weekend! And check that message thread we've been having about this upcoming weekend too!

Yeah, life is a struggle at the moment, it seems. Makes me wonder when I'm due for some good karma and all.
