Malaise and Pain

This is the first entry I've written in about a week, and part of the problem has been that I've not spent all that much time on-line, simply because the pain in my shoulder has been something fierce. It's a feeling that I really don't like. It's been making my life heck, to be honest, especially in regard the fact that I can't lift anything with my left arm without pain (not agonizing most of the time, but very unpleasant). Thank gods I have an appointment at the doctor's on Monday.

Last night's game of DragonQuest was really good, and the group is doing really well with the stuff I've thrown at them the past couple of weeks. Even if they are griping a bit about being in the Palace of Ontoncle again! Insofar as rpging and stuff goes, I've been thinking of stuff that I want to do in my roleplaying game life, and at the moment, I'm suffering from a form of malaise when it comes down to it. While I continue to run my DragonQuest and have stuff to get ready for a demo of Hollow Earth Expedition, I can't get excited about the gaming stuff at all. The DragonQuest campaign on Friday night is going fine, although I am somewhat worried about the Sunday game, which is just starting up again. In the meantime, the Hollow Earth Expedition (HEX) PBeM game seems to have lost its impetus and drive, and I'm not sure what's going on there.

This malaise has been affecting other parts of my life as well, as other than reading some comics in the last little while, I've not read any books in over two weeks. Other than working through a couple of books on diabetes, of course, which are heavy reads and somewhat depressing at times. Nothing really serious or outrageously depressing, but just giving me another set of doses of reality in terms of the disease.

I did launch the new, spam-free Blood of Heroes Mailing List. Blood of Heroes is the current incarnation of the Mayfair Exponential Game System (MEGS) that was first published by Mayfair Games as the DC Heroes rpg, without the DC universe background and setting. So far, the group has 14 members, not a lot, of course, but what can you do? Most of the folks who were subscribed to the old BoH list are probably not on the old list, given the 200+ messages of nothing but spam that have been there since...whenever. I'm hoping that things pick up, but we'll see.

The only real bright spot is that I picked up the first album by K.T. Tunstall this week, and it's rather good.

I'm off to take a couple of Tylenol, and then deal with some other things going on around here.
On the other hand, the good news is that the weather has warmed up nicely this week, even if it's very windy. Hmm, that reminds me, take a drink of water when I'm off here. :)
