CanGames 2010 Starts Today

Well, today is the start of CanGames, the local gaming convention here in Ottawa. I'm spending the rest of the morning here getting ready to head out to the convention with my friend, spross.

For those who are going to the convention, here's the listings with time and description of the games that I'm running this year:

Keeping the Piece
Game: Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space RPG
Time: Friday, 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Number of Players: 5
Description: Jerusalem, 1997. With civil unrest and political tension on the rise in the city, your United Nations Intelligence Taskforce (UNIT) team is all that stands in the way of the area exploding into violence. When an archaeological team uncovers an alien artefact in the city ruins, can your UNIT team determine what is going on, and keep the peace in the city?

Frontier Justice
Game: Desolation RPG
Time: Saturday, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Number of Players: 6
Description: Life in post-apocalyptic Scondera is harsh. The chief of the Burning Shoulder tribe of orcs, goblins, and kobolds is annoyed that a shipment of expected supplies has not arrived, so he sends you and your fellow tribe mates to find them. Experience life in the world of Desolation from an Oruskan point of view, where you aren't necessarily the monsters.

The Ruins of Skaro
Game: Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space RPG
Time: Sunday 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Number of Players: 4
Description: While en route to Woodstock in 1969, your TARDIS is diverted to the harsh and dead world of Skaro, drained of energy. Facing the natural (and not so natural) hazards that dwell there, you must affect repairs to the TARDIS and survive several traps that have been left behind. Will you be able to repair your TARDIS and determine who or what forced you to the home world of the Daleks?

I've also got a bunch of stuff that I plan to sell at the convention this year, including the original Torg boxed set with extra sets of Drama Decks, the entire run of Chill game products, the entire run of Fading Suns game stuff, and a few other things to boot. Hopefully I can sell most of the stuff off for a decent price, since I am seriously cash strapped these days in most respects.

For those who've been reading my journal the last month or so, my health is still suffering somewhat, so this is going to make the CanGames weekend...interesting for me, to say the least. With luck, everything will go smoothly and I'll be all right.

I won't be spending a lot of time on the computer this weekend, so folks will have to wait for when I have spare time or the post-convention report for stuff about CanGames 2010. Hopefully, some of my friends going to CanGames will be taking a few pictures and the like for posting all over the net. :)

In any event, I'll hopefully be seeing some of you at the convention. :)
