The Sunday group has just started to play the DragonQuest fantasy rpg again, and have been conducting sample combat to get the hang of the combat system again. Being that DragonQuest was published by Simulations Publications, Inc. (SPI), a company known for its wargaming and board games, it comes as no surprise that the combat system is a very physical, brutal, highly deadly system that is played out in a visual fashion on a hex grid. spross and Tammy are struggling a bit to get their tactics down and all, but that's all right. Since next weekend is Easter, we won't be playing, so perhaps they'll give some thought to how they intend to deal with some of the stuff, or not. In any event, need to do some more samples of combat with them the week after that.
In other rpg news, I have relaunched the Hollow Earth Expedition (HEX) Play be E-Mail game on Yahoo. Due to various circumstances that were beyond my control and the fact that several players have dropped out of the game due to lack of time and the like, I've actually relaunched the game from scratch on a new mailing list. The url for the HEX: Tales of the Hollow Earth PBeM game can be found by following the link above.
The Blood of Heroes mailing list that I set up is doing well, with some 24 folks already signed up, snd things are looking good. We'll see how that goes. In the meantime, I have a few characters to do up using the BoH system including the Dark Horse character, Ghost, some old Legion of Super-Heroes villains, and a couple of other characters as well. So much to do, so little time. :)
