Trip to the West End, and New Year's Eve Wish

Went out to Ottawa's west end this afternoon and in to The Comic Book Shoppe, since I needed to pick up my comic books to wrap up the year.

I had a couple of months worth of comics waiting for me at the store, and was looking forward to the Legion of Super-Heroes stories that I had missed for the month. In a lot of ways, I am staggered at the sheer number of comic books that come out every month.

While I was there, I was hoping to pick up an extra copy of The Laundry roleplaying game, but they were sold out on it. So instead, I picked up a copy of the Pandemic board game. I've been meaning to pick up a copy of the game for some time now, and ever since a couple of my good friends here on LJ mentioned they had played the game recently and how much fun they'd had with it, well...the temptation was just too much. :) I see that there is an expansion set for the game called On the Brink, so I may have to pick that up some time down the road as well. In any event, looks like a fun game for sure.

This evening, the plan is to have a simple evening meal, and then I'll head out to the west end again as my friends, SteveB and Kathy, have invited me over for a little New Year's Eve party they're hosting. So I will be in quite late tonight, methinks.

In the meantime, have a terrific New Year's Eve, folks, and be good to yourselves and each other.
