New Melanie Doane CD

Got home and forgot to grab the mail out of my mailbox, so just went out and took care of that.

I was pleased to find that the new Melanie Doane CD, The Emerald City, has come out in the limited Fan Edition, and arrived. I've been listening the album for the last hour or so, and have to say that there's some really good stuff on this CD. Lovely music, as usual, but it's been a while since Melanie's last album.

Great stuff.

I love Melanie Doane. Of course, geek that I am, I only heard of her because of Buffy lol

Of course, that's how I think a lot of folks started with Melanie Doane.

I've been following her music since as long as I can remember.
I have been a fan of Melanie Doane since I first heard her music back in 1996, and a song called "Shakespearean Fish" (that turned out to be off her first album, Shakespearean Fish). I loved that song and "My Sister Sings" off the same album, and have purchased her music ever since.

After listening to the album twice, I can tell you that it's a very good, very strong work. Favourite tracks include "Ruby Slippers", "How Can A Girl", "Back to L.A.", and "Humpty". Lovely stuff. :)

Shiny :) I've not heard anything from her in a while and the title sounds Oz-refrencey to me :)

Yep, it's definitely Oz-inspired in a lot of the songs, although I understand that Seattle is also referred to as the Emerald City.

Hmm, I wonder if Melanie has been to Seattle of late? :)

I'm digging the early fall temperatures. I know we've got a heatwave or two to go still but this is a nice start to the month.

I just can't go to a big event yet. I'd be so stressed that I wouldn't have fun.

hehe It's the second book in the series about Zoey, but to be honest, I found the humour in this second book a bit too much for my taste. That said, absolutely crazy stuff happens in this one (not…

Of course you do! :) Heck, *I* want one! :)

I really do want to run Vaesen - Nordic Horror Roleplaying. The Friday night group will play the game, but on Sundays, I don't know how to convince…
