New Dino, Croc Cousin Found in Brazil

Another bit of news in the field of dinos and the like.

New Dinosaur, Crocodile Cousin, Found in Brazil

This one is fascinating for a variety of reasons, but mainly the sheer size of this one, and the potential nastiness this creature must have had.

Ewww!

Not into them "now", been a paleontology type for a long time, and my blog has reflected this over the five years or so it's been around.

Yep, saw what they've been saying about the T-Rex. Scarier to think of it as a giant turkey. Also takes some of the imagery away, doesn't it?

I suspect that you're right about Hollywood and games not changing the dinosaur cliche, but there are places that have done so. Mostly Brit series and documentaries and the like.

The sheer length of time the dinosaurs ruled the Earth makes humanity look like a drop in the proverbial bucket. What the future holds, well, that's another matter. :)

The cockroaches hold the best chance I think, 'cause of their ability to take almost anything and still continue on. I'd rather it didn't happen with the rats. :) On the other hand, perhaps it'll be one of the species that has survived relatively intact since dinosaur times.
