I've just come back from the hospital, but... Let's start at the beginning.
I went to work today for the morning, but had an appointment with my doctor at 12:00 noon to go over the test results from last week's lab work (see this blog entry). There is good news and bad news.
The good news is that the x-rays of my sinuses and chest were clear. There's nothing significant about them, and therefore, there's no real infection there. The somewhat good news is that the blood tests came back negative, except to show that I've got some sort of bacterial infection, probably to do with bronchitis, so the good news is that the antibiotic that I started last Thursday should take it out shortly. I'm still coughing somewhat (okay, more than somewhat at times), but the doctor believes that the sinus pain I'm having all the way up into my head and the throat stuff is a function of my allergies.
Then the bad news... The MRI report was back from the lab, and the news is that I've got a bulging disc. But the MRI showed there is another, possibly serious problem, and so the doctor sent me back to the hospital to get a series of very specific x-rays of my spine. So specific that they had to call in a specialised tech type. They took ten (!!) x-rays of my spine, and the results should be back in a couple of weeks. So, I'm not saying anything else about the MRI here until the results of the tests come back and all, but I am somewhat...worried.
In the meantime, got stuff to do, people to see, and places to go. But for now, I'm going to go and lie down and relax for a bit. And think...a lot of thinking to do...
