Diabetes Test Results

One of the joys of this time of year, starting usually a bit later in October, is those cold mornings where one gets out of bed and revels in having a bowl of hot steel cut oats. Today was one of those days. I don't usually eat hot oatmeal for breakfast during Spring and Summer, but Autumn brings on that desire in the early a.m. to have some good, hot, stick to your ribs, food for breakfast. Mmm, cinnamon! :)

Came in to work today, and am glad I did so. The weather when I got up was still...night, but I realised right before I left the house to pick up my co-workers for the car pool that it was still pretty dim outside and quite cold and rainy. Glad to be indoors, even if I've got a pile of work on my desk that will take me several days of work to sort through.

Yesterday's appointment with the Diabetes specialist went better than I expected it to. My a1C has dropped from 9.2 (back in April) down to 7.9, and the doctor was very pleased with that change, though he wants it lower. My cholesterol levels have fallen nicely, but my triglycerides are still somewhat high. Even though they've dropped as well by a couple of points. My weight is up by three pounds, but my blood pressure is holding steady at mid-normal levels. So, for now, there will be no change to my medications, and I am to keep up doing whatever it is I've been doing.

The only bad thing about the appointment is that it was set for 3:20 pm, but I didn't see the doctor until after 4:10 pm or so, as he was runningk late. I did manage to get back home and grab the stuff I needed for Geology class last night, but didn't have any time to take a break and relax a bit, more's the pity.

Class last night was pretty interesting, as we're dealing with some of the history of famous geological finds and studies, as well as learning about some of the ins and outs of rock strata. Fascinating stuff, to be honest, but Goddess was I tired when I got home from class last night!

Meanwhile for now, another day and another dollar.

It's super unwise to go ahead with a convention but people insist on pretending things are normal. I just read an article that showed all of the precautions the very wealthy are taking at large…

Thank you!! It was a fairly busy day, making phone calls without number to deal with the two escrows in process at the same time, all the time praying that everything works out well and that both…

It's like that quote from The Neverending Story: "It has to hurt if it's to heal!" I say that to myself when things are rough.

The pandemic absolutely hit healthcare really hard, and still is since…

Yep, the foot ulcer is definitely scary to deal with, and is beyond uncomfortable. The chiropodist told me at my last appointment a week or so ago that the pain always gets worse as the healing…

I'm sorry that your foot is causing you so many issues. A foot ulcer sounds scary to deal with as well as uncomfortable.

Our health care system is rough and I think it's going to get worse before…
